Oreos may be as addictive as cocaine, morphine

 1) How does people’s behavior differ when they are addicted to cocaine compared to when they crave fat or sweet foods? How is it similar?

2) What, if anything, is the difference between saying that Oreos bring someone pleasure and saying someone is
addicted to them? Do the rats’ results show whether they were addicted or just felt ordinary pleasure? Explain.

 3) Does everyone prefer health to gratification? If so, why does anyone eat junk food?

4) Do people have a choice about whether to continue eating Oreo once they have started doing so? Does the study tell us? Explain.

  • I personally do think that  you do have a choice as to if or if not you get addicted to Oreo's or addictive drugs.  I  knew someone who was addicted to Oreo's and she kept eating them and got huge.  Then.. the doctor told her she had to loose weight, she worked out more and stopped eating Oreo's.  I don't think that there's a such thing as an addiction

Pills made from poop cure serious gut infections

 1) Would use undergo a fecal transplant or take these pills? Why or why not?

  • No, because I wouldn't like the fact that I'm swallowing someones poop!  A patient even said "It lasted for two years. It was horrible. I thought I was dying. I couldn't eat. Every time I ate anything or drank water I was into the bathroom," she said. "I never went anywhere, I stayed home all the time."  think that's absolutely disgusting, I would understand the fact that it can help cure infections.  Some people would probably just take it to help themselves stay a live.  If it was my last resort and I had a few days to live of course.. I'd do it!  Not just to be taking it just for the heck of it. No, no, no sorry but it will not be I.  I feel as if you take the pill you minus well actually eat your own stool.

 2) How have researchers created the pill described in the article? Why might people prefer it to fecal transplants?
  • They created the pill by having a relative of the patient donate their stool.  They cleaned the stool of all food and bacteria.  They also put  the stool in an triple-coat gel capsules so that the pill will not burst in your mouth!

 3) Why was the pill designed so it doesn't dissolve until it reaches the intestines?

  • It was designed like that so that no one would taste the unappetizing taste!  I'm certainly correct when I say that no doctor would want to taste any ones stool.. So, why would a patient?

 4) What are some possible future advances for this pill, according to the article? Remember to find an interesting quote and discuss it, as well.

  • I really don't think  that their is any good outcome for this pill.. Patients said that it was disgusting!!

We Are Teaching High School Students To Write Terribly- Literacy Blog #7

The SAT is a tests your readiness for college.   Can even determine your placement in college classes... I think that taking this test is completely mindless of whoever organized for this test to be token.  The fact that they don't give the students enough time to take the test is ridiculous!  "To do well on the essay, he says, the best approach is to just make stuff up." It seems unreal to me that they'd like for students to make up stuff due to the lack of time... They also said that you're more likely to pass guessing rather than giving real information.       Students are basically wasting money because the extremely smart kids can be at risk, because of giving true facts rather than making up false information.  Fifty-one dollars could be in some ones pocket rather than on a dumb test which is completely bourgeois.  I hate to say it but its very true.

I would update the test, because I really don’t understand why they’re still taking an 87-year old test.   I think that every year it should be a different test so that students don’t get use to the same test.  I’d also give more time on the test, they expect for you to write an essay based off of the little time that they give you.   After I take the test, I’d like to know exactly what I did wrong maybe my test book so that I can study and look for the types of questions that I should look for in the near future.  It’s important that you do well on the SAT so that you can get into the college that is desired by you… Not a college that you’re forced to be in.   Taking this test should be really important to you, so therefore you want the best for this test and for you not to feel as if you've
